IMPORTANT ACHIEVEMENTS 2000 2001/2 2003 2004 FUTURE ACHIEVEMENTS


The activities of 2000, were as follow:

The Society participated on the occasion of the world Tobacco Control Day corresponding to 31st May 2000, under the slogan (Don’t be Deceived Tobacco Kills). And on 26/5/2000, the lecture for Indian community under the title (Cancer and Smoking) was given by Dr. Pria Kula.
Organization of TV conference on harms of smoking, which included meetings with doctors and experts through observers’ program
lecture of Dr. Najat Ali Muhsen under the title (Cancer and Early Detection ) in the educational guidance building for ladies at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education on 31/5/2000
Organization of an open day in Mall compound on 1/6/2000, over two periods for children including child arts exposition and drawing competition on harms of smoking, both school boys and girls were invited to participate on this occasion to make use thereof, and to participate in installation of games on the occasion of Civil Defense Seventh Educational Festival for children for 2000, dated 15/10/2000, under the slogan “volunteerism is the unlimited giving” it lasted one and half months in association with the Department of Civil Defense and the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in coordination with the Qatar National Cancer Society, holding lectures in public and private schools on 15/10/2000, given by Dr. Salwa Abu Yaacoub, under the title “Legal age and Adolescence” in Al-Andalus Preparatory School for girls
On 16/10/2000, Dr. Kakel Ibrahim gave a lecture on (foods and cancer in Al-Wakra Secondary School for boys.
On 21/10/2000, Dr. Shefaa Al-Naseri gave a lecture on (Taking care of a child from childbirth to reaching legal age, in the Old Al-Rayyan Secondary School for girls. On 23/10/2000, Dr. Ahmed Mubarak gave a lecture on (Smoking and Cancer) in Al-Ahnaf Bin Qhaith Preparatory School for boys. On 30/10/2000, Dr. Abul Azim Abdul Wahhab gave a lecture on the importance of early diagnosis of cancer in Al-Estiklal Secondary School for boys
Paying educational visits to preparatory schoolgirls by professor Sahar Burhan to promote the Society, its goals and means of spreading health awareness among the members of the community from 16/10/2000 up to 25/11/2000 in the schools (Qatar, Hafsah, Fatima Al-Zaharaa, Al-Sadd, Al-Andalus, Al-Aqsa, Sumaiy, Zainab, Al-Taawun, Al-Wajba, Madina Khalifa, Sakina, Old Al-Rayyan and New Rayyan). Dr. Ossama Al-Hamsi gave a lecture on “Smoking leads to have stroke” in Jassim Bin Hamad Summer Center for boys under the Ministry of Education on 18/8/2000
