The aim of the society research program is to determine the causes and to support efforts to prevent and cure cancer.
INFORMATION Cancer is a disease in which cells multiply without control destroying healthy tissue and endangering life.
TREATMENT QATAR NATIONAL CANCER SOCIETY seeks to provide the public and health care professionals with information.
SERVICES The CANCER SOCIETY PROVIDES SERVICE AND REHABILITATION PROGRAMS.

• PREVENTION
Primary cancer prevention means taking the necessary precaution to prevent the
occurrence of cancer. It helps adults and children make health-enhancing decisions and act on them.Prevention focuses on:
a) Cigarette (tobacco) controls.
b) Relationship between diet and physical activity and cancer.
c) Reducing the risk of skin cancer.
d) Promoting comprehensive school health education.

• DETECTION, TREATMENT INFORMATION AND EDUCATION
Through national conferences, workshops, audio visuals and print publication, the society seeks to provide the public and health care professionals with information:
Through the dissemination of its early detection guidelines and its detection education and advocacy programs, in order to insure that all cancers are diagnosed at the earliest possible stage.

• PATIENT SERVICES
To ease the impact of cancer on patients and their families, the cancer society provides patient Family education and support programs.

• ADVOCACY AND PUBLIC POLICY
The society advocacy initiative strives to influence public policies at all levels with special emphasis on laws and regulations relating to:
a) The Use, Sale, Distribution and Marketing of tobacco products especially to the young.
b) Improved access, particularly for the poor to a range of health care services for the prevention, early detection diagnosis and treatment of cancer and care for cancer patient.
c) The rights of cancer survivors.
