LUNG CANCER

The human body is formed of different cells with different forms and functions. During our lives, some of the cells in our body die normally and the body compensates this lack by division.

Normally, the division of cells takes place regularly so that our body can grow to replace or fix the bad tissues. But, in the case of cancer, abnormal cells grow and instead of replacing the bad cells they multiply astronomically and non-stop and the infected organ is faced with a problem known as tumor. The disease was named "cancer" because the swollen blood vessels around the tumor look like crab claws.

Tumors are divided into two types:

Benign tumors (noncancerous)

These are generally covered with a membrane and are not capable of spreading, but some might cause problems to the infected organ especially if they were large and exert pressure on the damaged organ or the nearby organs which forbid them from working normally. These tumors could be removed surgically or treated with drugs or radiation to decrease their size and this is enough to heal them and they often do not recur.

Malignant tumors (cancerous)

Malignant tumors tend to grow quite quickly, and invade into nearby tissues and organs which can cause damage.

There are many types of cancer:

1- Breast cancer
2- Leukemia
3- Uterine cancer
4- Lung cancer
